A Record-Breaking Giving Day

You made a difference!  April 8 & 9 the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) community came together to achieve record breaking results on U Giving Day.  We raised over $30,000 from more than 50 donors in 1,850 minutes (in recognition of the year the U was founded).

U Giving Day is more than a fundraising effort.  It is a celebration of community, generosity, and the power of education.  This year, CAP highlighted the incredible students and programs within Architecture, Design, Games, and Planning and the transformative impact donations make on the student experience.  From funding scholarships to supporting learning beyond the classroom, every contribution helps shape the next generation.

Working across the departments, faculty and staff came together to showcase how giving directly fuels innovation, student opportunity, and academic excellence.  A standout example of this collaboration was the first-ever “Gaming for Giving” livestream, hosted by Division of Games Esports Director, AJ Dimick. For four hours, faculty and staff from across the college teamed up to play games while streaming on Twitch, engage with viewers, and raise awareness for student scholarships in a way that reflected the creativity and collaborative culture of the college.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this year’s Giving Day. Your generosity ensures that each division within the College of Architecture and Planning not only grows—but thrives.
