Meet Our Team


Emi Ata’ata
Pronouns: They/She

Advises in-major students in Design and Urban Ecology. Advises all CA+P minors.

I joined the College of Architecture + Planning in May 2019. I received my B.S. in Sociology and another B.S. in Political Science from the University of Utah in 2017. In May 2019, I graduated with my master’s in Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Utah. Prior to joining the CA+P team, I worked with the TRIO Programs and Women's Resource Center at the University of Utah. I was born and raised in Rose Park, Utah. I love the mountains and eating delicious food. I am dedicated to the academic and personal success of students. I look forward to meeting with you and learning from you!
Deepika Shah KC
Pronouns: She/Her

Advises 1st year Design Foundation students. Advises all CA+P minors.

Deepika Shah KC is a Design Foundations Academic Program Manager in the College of Architecture + Planning. She works with first-year college students to support them by advising and programming. Deepika attended the University of Utah and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Ethnic studies and international studies. She has her master's in Education Leadership & Policy emphasis in higher education from the University of Utah. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants with her loved ones, and spending time with her adorable dog, Yuki.
Sam Dalton
Pronouns: He/Him

Advises In-major students in Architectural Studies. Advises all transfer students. Advises All CA+P minors.

Sam Dalton is an academic advisor who works with architectural studies and transfer students to ensure academic success and growth throughout their time in the college. Sam received his BFA in Theatre from the University of Utah in 2022 and his Master of Education from Franklin University in 2024. Previously, Sam has worked in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, and Housing & Residential Education. In his free time, Sam loves baking, creating art, and catching a movie.
