Max Allen is an alumnus of Utah State University and studied abroad at the University of Tsukuba in Japan. He has worked in education for most of his career; he greatly enjoys helping students through their educational journey and being alongside them as they discover their strengths and interests. Max loves music, books, comic books, and Salt Lake City.
Advises in-major students in Design and Urban Ecology. Advises all CA+P minors.

Emi Ata’ata joined the College of Architecture + Planning in May 2019. They earned two B.S. degrees at the University of Utah in Sociology and Political Science. They later went on to achieve an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy with an emphasis in Student Affairs from the University of Utah. Prior to joining CA+P, Emi worked with the TRIO Programs and Women’s Resource Center on campus. As a first-generation college graduate, they are passionate about supporting students through the complexities of university life and empowering them to advocate for themselves and pursue meaningful opportunities. They love the mountains, eating delicious food, and playing Stardew Valley!

Kelsen Gault is an academic advisor with the Division of Games. Kelsen is highly passionate about higher education and student support. They earned a B.A. in History and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy with an emphasis in Student Affairs from the University of Utah. Kelsen has worked in the Office of the Registrar and on the international team in the Office of Admissions. Kelsen loves stories and games, culminating in a passion for story-based video games and tabletop role-playing games.

Britanie Hale is an Academic Advisor for the Division of Games. She joined the Division in 2023 after working as an Academic Program Coordinator in Biomedical Engineering. Britanie discovered her love for the University of Utah as a student, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2017 in Peace and Conflict Studies. Before working at the U, she spent 12 years as a vegan and gluten-free specialty baker, helping her young employees plan for high school and college. Supporting students continues to be her favorite part of advising, and she loves helping them reach their goals and feel confident in their college adventure.

Alexis Ulrich supports undergraduate students in the Division of Games. They earned two B.A.s at the University of Utah in English and International Studies. They have been working full-time at the University since March of 2016 in various capacities, eventually finding their passion in undergraduate advising. They enjoy stories of all kinds, be it reading, writing, or playing videogames.

Carolyn Lien is an academic advisor for undergraduate students in the College of Architecture + Planning. Carolyn found great delight in planning her own college semester schedules, so much so that she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. and M.A. in four years. Since joining the University of Utah, she hopes to help students find their own joy in planning their academic career and discover all that higher education has to offer. As an Iowa native, Carolyn is excited to explore Utah and to live near mountains for the first time in her life.
