Hello and Thank You!
Thank you for supporting our talented students, the work of our amazing faculty, and for warmly welcoming me to the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP). As I wrap up my first three months with the college, I want to quickly introduce myself and share the impact supporting CAP is having on the lives of students.
I am grateful for my own architecture degree and the lessons I learned about relationships, community, and working together to influence how humans experience and interact with the environment around them. Many things have changed since I completed my degree. Students are now designing for both the physical and virtual worlds, computers have replaced drafting tables, and the Division of Games (video games) is an integral part of the CAP community. Despite these transformations, the lessons about relationships, community, and working together remain a core part of the CAP experience.
My architecture degree laid the foundation for my career in advancement, having taught me lessons that have benefited me every step of the way. I am grateful to now contribute to our departments ensuring that current and future students can access those same transformative opportunities.
Charitable giving plays a crucial role in advancing the mission of the College of Architecture and Planning. Alumni and other members of the CAP community are enhancing the educational experience for students, supporting cutting-edge research, and fostering innovation in addressing some of society’s most pressing challenges, such as population growth, housing affordability, and sustainable design. Every gift strengthens the college’s ability to prepare the next generation of innovators to create a more equitable and resilient future.
By giving to the College, you are providing critical resources like scholarships and experiential learning opportunities, while also enabling us to create a social web that supports students’ academic needs, mental health and safety, and career preparation.
Private support of CAP and the four individual departments not only advances the field but also addresses real-world challenges, creating a ripple effect of positive impact. Every gift empowers our students and faculty to create sustainable, inclusive solutions for our communities and beyond —one idea, one project, and one gift at a time.
As I continue my journey with the College of Architecture and Planning, I look forward to building strong relationships, contributing to the CAP community, and working together to ensure the continued success of CAP students and the College.
I will be in touch, but also please feel free to reach out anytime.
