Shop Rules

FOOT PROTECTION

• Sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots are required at all times
• Shoes must protect feet from heavy objects, slivers, and other shop hazards
• Not permitted: sandals, flip-flops, high heels, Crocs, open-toed shoes, or any footwear that exposes the foot

CLOTHING SAFETY

• No loose-fitting clothing is allowed
• Avoid baggy pants, untucked shirts, scarves, or dangling jewelry
• Any item that may become caught in machinery is strictly prohibited
• No glove use is allowed on any machinery.

HAIR CONTAINMENT

• Long hair must be tied back or fully secured under a hat, and loose hair must be restrained to prevent entanglement with tools

EYE PROTECTION

• Safety glasses must be worn at all times in the shop
• Prescription glasses must be covered with safety glasses or a face shield

HEARING PROTECTION

• Earplugs are recommended for use in the shop
• Hearing damage is cumulative and may not be immediately noticeable

IMPAIRMENT POLICY

• Do not operate any tool under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• This includes prescribed or non-prescribed medications that impair judgment or alertness
• Do not operate tools when drowsy or sleep-deprived

DUST PROTECTION

• Dust masks are strongly recommended for use
