Faculty Awards

Open to all Tenure-line, Career-line, or Adjunct faculty in the College of Architecture and Planning.

  • This award honors a faculty member with a sustained and distinguished record of scholarship—research or creative work—whose contributions have meaningfully advanced the discipline, profession, or community. The recipient’s work demonstrates intellectual leadership and has made a lasting, transformative impact while at the University of Utah.

  • This award recognizes a faculty member who exemplifies excellence and innovation in teaching and a deep commitment to student success both inside and outside the classroom. The recipient inspires student learning through exceptional mentorship, creative pedagogy or curricular leadership.

  • This award honors a faculty member whose service and leadership have strengthened the university, advanced the profession, or enriched a community.

     

     

Staff Awards

Open to all staff in the College of Architecture and Planning, including those who work in the college while reporting outside of it.

  • This award recognizes a staff member whose dedication, reliability, and professionalism consistently exceed expectations. The recipient plays a vital role in supporting the success of the college community.

  • This award honors a staff member who brings creativity, initiative, and forward-thinking problem-solving to their work. The recipient improves the efficiency and quality of operations at the unit or college level, often through collaboration or the successful implementation of a transformative project, process, or system.

  • This award recognizes a staff member whose leadership and service extend beyond the college to make a meaningful impact at the university or within the broader community.

Process

  • Nominations must be submitted by Friday, March 6, 2026.
  • Nominations may be made by any individual or team (e.g., students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, professionals, and community members). The committee reserves the right to seek additional information as appropriate.
  • The committee will review nominations and make award recommendations to the Dean. The Dean will finalize the winners.
  • Awardees will receive a one-time cash award of $1,000.
  • Recipients of a College Award must wait three years before being considered for another award.
